David L. Kreider, Esquire, is the General Counsel and an Executive of Vodafone New Zealand. A Chartered Arbitrator specializing in managing business disputes, he guides Vodafone through arbitration and court proceedings across the Asia Pacific region. In addition to his duties with Vodafone, David regularly sits as an arbitrator in technology and China-related cases, including several where amounts in dispute have exceeded US$100 million.
Prior to joining Vodafone, David was the General Counsel of China Mobile (Hong Kong) from 1999 to 2005. He is also a Director of the American Arbitration Association and the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration. With more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer, David has also held senior regulatory posts, as Chief of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as a Director of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
David holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Miami and graduated from Muhlenberg College with a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies.
David resides in Auckland and in Hong Kong. He is an American attorney-at-law, licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and the District of Columbia, and an English and Hong Kong solicitor. David does not practice law in New Zealand.
